This Thursday we're going to be discussing imaginary friends - are they really a child's way of relating to the spiritual, to God? Do adult Christians have a relationship with Jesus that isn't far removed from this? Is Santa God?
If you'd like to join us in person that would be fab, let us know, but if you would like to join in the discussion from home then please do using the comments feature here. We're meeting from 20.00 to 22.00 if you wish to join in 'live', but feel free to chip-in beforehand.

Here are some specific questions to think about..,
1. Is an imaginary friend a way for a child to explore spirituality, developing a skill that will help them to relate to God in later life?
2. Old people with dementia, or mentally ill people sometimes have imaginary friends. So are imaginary friends a sign of brain malfunction, or in the case of a child, a brain that isn't yet developed?
3. Do we as rational adults shut off the part of out brain that allows is to perceive these imaginary friends, and if so does it make us less receptive to God as well?
4. As adults do we treat God as an imaginary friend? (What a friend we have in Jesus...)
