Help - Andy's neglecting me

I am blogging on behalf of all the plants in the SofaChurch room. We are being treated dismally. Andy bought us to brighten the SofaChurch room (which we've been doing marvellously) but we're now being sorely neglected.

We watch week after week as Andy sits there, sipping happily on his cup of tea, while we remain parched and gasping. We need help. We need one of you to commit to watering us each week, as we've frankly given up hope of Andy ever remembering us.

I don't mind having a peep at them - though given that I've discovered a money tree with basal stem rot and a floppy cactus (possibly same problem, or Vine Weevil), there's no guarantee they'll be fine!

On behalf of Cheshire the Cheese plant and his buddies, I'd like to thank you for your kind offer, Tim. (The watering can is kept in the kitchen on the window sill or there's a big jug in one of the cupboards for a better soaking.)

Cheshire really needs re-potting into a bigger pot, but we need to remember to pick one up next time we're at B&Q...

p.s Andy told me that you were naming the plants the other night, which I thought was really sweet (Colin, Barry, Sheila) until I realised you were actually talking species.

I'll have a look at Cheesey next week; some plants actually like being pot bound a bit and then struggle like mad once given too much space. Alternatively, some plants will take what you give them, and grow in proportion to their root space. Cheese plants can grow 20 to 30 feet tall in natural conditions...

LOL naming plants. Love it.

BTW, sap from this plant is harmful to humans and cats. If you get any on your hands wash it off promptly and don't ingest it!

Meant to bring along some liquid plant food for the plants last night, but forgot; will do when I next get along which will be halfway through the Nineties SOP.

(I'm giving a talk on 28th, and on 11th, so can't get at all. The talk on 4th is in South Staffs, but should be able to get along for some of it).

Give the Cheese Plant and Spider Plant a little water next week.

I have a suitable pot for repotting the Cheese Plant, and will look into the potting medium required. Looked quite loamy.

Cheers
