Songs of Praise - The 60s

This Thursday the Songs of Praise series starts with the 1960s... bring along your mainstream music from that decade which, for whatever reason, makes you think of God. Fancy dress is optional...

We can't work out whether that's you guys wearing those costumes or a photoshop job... Whichever, you both look very cool!

Go on - spill the beans!

LOL! Those are real replica outfits we are wearing - was at The Potteries museum a couple years back when they had an exhibition on the 1960s with a lot of interactive stuff, and dressing up stuff for adults too! I very much identify with Mr Benn - I don't like parties but I do enjoy dressing up :o)

Ananda Shankar - Raghupati

The Doors - When the music's over:
What have they done to the earth?
What have they done to our fair sister?
Ravaged and plundered and ripped her and bit her
Stuck her with knives in the side of the dawn
And tied her with fences and dragged her down
I hear a very gentle sound
With your ear down to the ground
We want the world and we want it... x2
Now, now? , now!
Persian night, babe, see the light, babe
Save us!, Jesus!, save us!

Fantastic pic... love it!!
Been racking my brains trying to think of songs from 60s. My parents were extremely tame in their tastes so my early years were pretty much dominated by the likes of the Seekers; Peter, Paul and Mary; and Roger Whittaker (of Puff the Magic Dragon fame!!) Do remember "I'll never find another you" and also "Turn, turn, turn" having some 'spiritual' significance tho.... both by the Seekers and corresponding videos can be found on UTube.
See you Thursday... think it will just be me as Andy has an interview down in Luton.
