Coming up... alt.worship

On April 24th I'd like us to try an alternative worship evening, with as many people as possible contributing.

The idea is to create a series of 'stations'; self contained mini activities that we will go round individually and use to hopefully encounter God.

We tried this at runway last year; you can see what we did here.

This website has lots of more information and photos. And there are hundreds of 'worship tricks' here.

Book is coming on well... I'm going to pull out all the stops to see if I can get along to this... *really* want to, and no talk to give to take me away elsewhere.

Andy - Helen & I have been discussing and have different interpretations of the text for tonight: we're uncertain if you're asking each of us to bring something along to do, or that you have prepared things done before...

If it's the former, how do we know we're not replicating ideas other people will be using? Who is is doing what?

All the best

Tim

Hi Tim

I'll answer for Andy, since he's at school...

I think he's hoping folk will bring along things to do. It won't matter too much if ideas are replicated, I'm sure.

He's planning on bringing some ideas too, just in case people can't/forget.

Thanks Susie. I'd had an idea for an activity last night but didn't realise it until an hour ago!

No probs Tim. Your idea sounds intriguing...

I do miss coming to SofaChurch; the only downside to this little burping, farting, crapping ray of sunshine we now have in our lives ;o)

I suppose one day I'll feel able to leave her with a babysitter... maybe when she's fifteen or so?

Blogger TimP Says:

Yes, one day you will, I am sure :o)

It's a very strange feeling when you do...

I'll be taking a camera tonight too to capture bits of it, and preserve the ideas of it - I would not be surprised if we ended up with a SofaChurch in Crewe centre...

I've prepapred two things which might be of use / relevance for tonight!

Will be there near to start due to ferrying commitments...
