Getting Crafty

This Thursday we'll be getting out creative materials for an informal evening of crafty activity, and chatting while we do. Last time we did this, it was hugely enjoyed, with all works accepted on their own merit as a way of thinking about a particular Bible passage. The evening flew by.

Church is about being the people of God, and this is a way in which creativity is expressed, and people just be together wherever their orbit of God takes them.

It's Church, but not as we know it.

sorry can't seem to access my Blogger account... hey ho!!
We certainly did get 'arty' Thursday night!! Had intended to make 'Mother's Day' cards but after last week's lively discussions(about how Christians and traditional 'church' can be seen as 'woolly' and disconnected from real life) thought it might be fun to explore these ideas further, but this time using drawings and paint. Rather than focusing on how society actually perceives what Christians should be like, we explored how God sees people who have Jesus at the very centre of their lives. It was amazing how many different responses there were, each offering an alternative perspective. Folk also commented on how lovely it was to pause in the midst of a hectic week to be peaceful, contemplative and to simply enjoy the creative process.... or was it just the pringles, penguin biscuits and choccies on offer!!!!
Some pictures weren't finished during the evening, but I will try and 'post' some photos of those that were. Thank you everyone who contributed and made the evening so thought-provoking and enjoyable.
