Modern day prophets?

On the first Thursday of each month we'll have a 'guest' service, ideal for people who haven't been to church very often if at all. So, if you are planning to come to SofaChurch for the first time these meetings would be ideal.

We will start with a series of four meetings. We will think about four unlikely people who might nevertheless have a vital message for our world today. Might these four be messengers of God? They are a somewhat controversial bunch, some well known, some not, but all are well worth looking at.

February 7th: Banksy, the UK's most famous graffiti artist. Is he just a vandal, or does he have a prophetic message about peace, social justice and freedom?

March 6th: Borat. Stick with me on this one; prophets have a tradition of putting people in awkward situations that expose their wrong attitudes.

April 3rd: Scroobius Pip. One half of dan le sac Vs Scroobius Pip, a band from Essex. Their first two songs, Thou Shalt Always Kill and A Letter from God to Man reveal an insight into God that we can all learn from.

May 1st: Mr Benn. The fancy dress loving time traveller always seems to have the Christ-like answer for the problems that the people he meets are struggling with.

We will have some promotional posters and postcards soon; please spread the word! Click here to download a copy of the postcard to email to your friends.
