The room is now finished. HUGE thanks to the Fergusons for all their hard work and also to Chris W for all his expert sofa assembling work (If you want an Ikea sofa put together, you know who to ask).
We're really pleased with the final result. The room feels warm, inviting and cosy and we really hope it will provide the right atmosphere for friendships to develop and grow. Hopefully it'll be a relaxed place that we all enjoy going to (and wouldn't feel uncomfortable inviting our friends and neighbours along).
Let us know what you think!

Can't wait to try it out in person!
Looks superb :o)
That is fantastic, I am so excited about this!
If I didn't know better I would have said that you had lifted a photo stright out of the Ikea catalogue. It looks amazing!
I like the way there is no back row to this church - very cunning. The question is, though, will we all have 'our own' seat?
It does look very Ikea, doesn't it? In fact, I've sent pics to the Ikea magazine, just in case they want to do a feature on us (!)
We rather enjoyed our 'Ikea summer'. We needed three trips in all! One to suss out what we wanted to buy, another to order it all and a third to pick up all the bits and bobs we forgot the first two times. It's a good job they do nice meatballs...
The design is all Andy's doing - I can't take credit for it at all. When he said he wanted to decorate the room in reds, oranges, pinks and browns, I thought 'yuk!' I really couldn't imagine it working at all.
But the strange thing is, that odd combination of colours really does work, doesn't it?
Re. the back row: it turns out there was one last night at runway. All the cool older kids (your no. 1 daughter included) bagged the big black sofa straight away! Late-comers had to settle for sitting up by the projector with Andy. Perhaps that'll be an incentive to get there early... ;o)
...and thanks again for getting this rolling!
Felt like I should know you both already, even though I'd never met you before.
...and so to bed.
